Principal’s Message

Welcome to our college.

De La Salle Catholic College Cronulla seeks to provide an environment that perpetuates the work and charism of St John Baptist De La Salle. The college achieves its mission by providing programs that challenge students to do their best in an environment of strong pastoral care. De La Salle Cronulla is a Catholic systemic senior college within the Archdiocese of Sydney with its population comprising of Year 11 and 12 students.

The college plays an important role in the community by providing Catholic co-education for students who attend the two Catholic Year 7 to 10 feeder schools, De La Salle Caringbah (boys) and Our Lady of Mercy College Burraneer (girls).

These schools, along with the four primary feeder schools, ensure that families in the Eastern Sutherland Shire have a clear pathway of Catholic education. De La Salle Catholic College Cronulla has a strong record of academic achievement.

The college facilities include the recently opened learning areas specialising in Creative and Performing Arts, Technology and Design, and Hospitality. The college provides an excellent Vocational Educational and Training (VET) curriculum in which students, who do not have tertiary study as an immediate goal, are able to strengthen their school to work opportunities.

De La Salle Catholic College Cronulla - About Us - Our ParishWe celebrate all significant moments in out college calendar with liturgy, prayer and celebration and it is the expectation that all members actively participate.

Our major liturgies mark the opening of the school year and it is here we acknowledge the academic achievements of students from the previous HSC cohort. We celebrate Founder’s Day with a liturgy honouring St John Baptist De La Salle and the brothers of the college.

The graduation Mass marks the end of students’ time at the college and is a very special time for graduates and their families. We conclude the year with a Mass of Thanksgiving and award Year 11 students with their preliminary certificates.

On a smaller scale religion classes have the opportunity to celebrate Mass on a less formal basis in the classroom. Students play an important role in the choir, readings, the formal processions or organisation. As a community all participate as active members of the gathered assembly.
